Anna had both a disciplined and diligent prayer life. She is a representation of the women of God who in their later season of life focus their energy on interceding for their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and anyone else placed on their hearts. Anna’s prayer life contrasts with the failing climate of prayer today. Our culture presents forms of prayer that are mostly self-expression. However, mature prayer is dominated by a sense of God. It rescues us from a preoccupation with ourselves and pulls us into adoration of God, which is what Anna learned.
